Your Calling - Your Passion 2

Do  What You Love & the Money Will Come....Really!? Several people I've known personally have made comments to me about this statement and the use of it in my book RISE ABOVE THE ORDINARY. Understandably, the true point at its base level was not made, but that wasn't the purpose of the book. The purpose is to provide ideas on certain habits that a disenfranchised individual can adopt in order to change their lives and further become who God intended that person to be. Let's break this down . "What is the one thing that you do so well and enjoy doing so much that you would gladly do it for FREE?"  OK, so you have found your passion or at least, something that can put you on the right path. There are two simple rules necessary in order to make a living from your passion. Now keep in mind, both rules have multiple levels and vary based on what your passion is and who you are. Those levels are part of your personal journey and for you alone to discov

REJECTION REJECTED…Whether a child belittled by an older sibling or a senior citizen snubbed by the local punk-kid cashier, we all deal with rejection throughout our lives. No one I’ve ever met obtains enjoyment from being turned down, turned away or simply told no. The scars that can remain over time could be at least in part, responsible for our slow and stumbling progress.  Rejection or how we allow the follow up feelings from rejection to affect us can leave lasting damage to our self-esteem which intern will impede our forward progress in life. The center of our feelings of rejection stem from who and how we define ourselves.  This is our identity. The topic of Identity is for another time.  However, you may want to consider who or what are you comparing yourself to and thus attempting to seek approval from?  Is it what your parents, friends or coworkers thought of you? Or is it about status and how much money you earn or the image you portray?  When you're dead an

TIPS TO CLEARER THINKING #6

Organize Your Space Your mind is much clearer when you have a clean room or a clean house. Make it a habit of straightening things up when they start to get messy, You’ll see how much of a difference it can make in your productivity. Any time I travel away from home for more than 48 hours, I've made a habit of cleaning my living space from top to bottom.  After a tiring day in and out of planes, trains or automobiles, nobody wants to come home to a messy house. This way I'm not hit with more tedious work to be done once inside the door. After long hours in transit a person should be able to wind down and prepare for the next day. Clean Your Environment. Get rid of all that stuff, clean your desk, your room, your house, your garage. Become Discontent with mess in general. Reducing clutter in your living space helps to reduce the clutter in your head. BUSY WORK & the CHURCH

Image
Self Reflection is Painful - (a rant) I know this rant is going to offend some of my Christian brothers and sisters but I find myself apologizing for whatever it was anyone has gone through that brings out the bitterness displayed towards people of faith. And although I myself am a devout follower of Christ, I too have a problem with the attitude and behavior by the majority of self professed Christians and what the Christian Church has become here in the west. Just like with our parents, as children we model what we see our leadership do. We are full of " busy work ".   BUSY WORK: The act of looking like you are making a difference all the while ignoring what Christ has truly called of us.    BUSY WORK: protesting at abortion clinics or the funeral services of our fallen military heroes in the name of Christ or any other outward display of so called piety yet never truly getting into the Word or prayer to actually gain the heart and mind of Christ oneself. BUSY WOR
