The following is from my Ebook Now It's My Turn on Amazon. Setting Goals in Detail The wisest man who ever lived, King Solomon, said, “Where there is no vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18 KJV). Gaining a clear and precise vision brings life to our innermost being. Having no vision at all, not knowing the direction we should take, and having no dreams takes life from us because we have nothing of any consequence to live for. Basically, find your purpose in life, and you will truly have a life worth living. Some people know exactly what they want and are meant to do from a very young age. Others need to focus and experience different situations both positive and negative. I found out from trial and error and from seeking God what my personal mission in life is. Perhaps your journey is similar. Your purpose in life could be to run for public office, or it could be to raise responsible children who will go out into the world and make a difference. It could be nothing more th

The following is my best recollection of the North Hollywood Shoot Out February 28, 1997 This posting of "A Day In The Life" flows in the same vain as the A Day In The Life Of An Airport Shuttle Driver . Its all about my life chapter during the 1990's while earning a living in the San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, California. But this time, rather than the Northridge Earthquake we're on the Universal Studios hill watching the Bank of America in North Hollywood. Wow what a day. photo courtesy of Personlliberty.com First, let me begin by adamantly stating that although memory fades, I know what I saw...they did not catch everyone. Unlike my piece on the Northridge Earthquake this is not so much the telling of a story as it is an observation with a question. One of many places of employment I had in the 1990's was for an event security company hired by at the time known as the Universal Amphitheatre at Universal Studios . It was actually a coo

Both parents were only children. No aunts, uncles or cousins. Never met my grandparents on either side with the exception of my father's mom whom I met at about 3 years old. My parents were divorced when I was 2 and my mother died at home of breast cancer when I was 19. My father wasn't really in my life like he was with my 3 older siblings. I've been legally blind my entire life and was born with severe scoliosis. Hit by moving vehicles 5 times. Survived drowning in riptides twice. 1986 survived a mild heart attack due to drug abuse. Then add everything else this country will throw at Black American males. I'm not supposed to be here...Yet my Lord & Savior has Always had His hand on me. ....and that's just the 1st half of life....

As I get older the more I learn, the less I understand. But also I see things within myself that are confirmed in the comments others make about the struggles life can bring. The following is part of an article pulled from LinkedIn on what mentally strong people DON'T do. 1. Waste Time Feeling Sorry for Themselves: You don’t see mentally strong people feeling sorry for their circumstances or dwelling on the way they’ve been mistreated. They have learned to take responsibility for their actions and outcomes, and they have an inherent understanding of the fact that frequently life is not fair. They are able to emerge from trying circumstances with self-awareness and gratitude for the lessons learned. When a situation turns out badly, they respond with phrases such as “Oh, well.” Or perhaps simply, “Next!” 2. Give Away Their Power: Mentally strong people avoid giving others the power to make them feel inferior or bad. They understand they are in control of their action

The Good Doctor - Pt 1 When we last left our weary travelers, they had just received the worst news an exhausted and exacerbated traveler could get especially in front of witnesses. CREDIT CARD DECLINED!!! With veins popping and expletives flowing the good Dr. Cut-Me-Up was about ready to Stroke Out! But wait...Mrs. Cut-Me-Up thinking quickly whips out her iPhone as if it’s a Walther PPK and she’s been given a license to kill...or rather charge. Yes, that’s right the Apple Farm Inn accepts Apple Pay. (I’m willing to bet most of our staff doesn’t know this). Quicker than you can say Apple Dumpling their room was secured. With a little help from a House Man, the couple, their luggage along with their wine glasses arrived at his personal favorite room 300. Barely in a seat the phone rings. “ Ah what is it now ” growls the doctor. “ Hello, this is Claudia the ni
